For thousands of students grades 7-12, Pam Wilkinson is the face of mineral outreach in Arizona. Since April 2009, Pam has visited hundreds of classrooms across the state providing presentations and activities on Arizona minerals and rocks and educating students on the value and methods of modern mining.

In addition to her traveling museum of mineral specimens, Pam's repertoire - see below - includes presentations on minerals, mining, and the distribution of mineral resources in Arizona. She has a hands-on activity that spotlights the relationship between the geologic rock cycle and mineral deposits.

Bio: Pam Wilkinson is a geologist with a background in mineral exploration. In April 2009, she began a new career as an outreach educator with the Arizona Department of Mines and Mineral Resources. From January to June 2011, Pam was an outreach specialist at the Arizona Geological Survey. In July 2011, Pam accepted a position as outreach coordinator with the Lowell Institute for Mineral Resources at The University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona.
