Mine Engineering Inputs to Integrated Planning

Friday April 13 – Saturday April 14, 2018

Tucson, Arizona

This 2-day short course is designed for junior- to mid-level geologists and metallurgists and introduces the role of mining engineering and engineers in the mineral resources industries. Topics include economic, geological, and infrastructure factors in project valuation and mine design; methods of developing and optimizing mine designs; short-, medium-, and long-range planning and scheduling; and resource and reserve reporting.

The course is taught by a group of academic and industry mining engineers, including Freeport-McMoRan’s Mine Design group. No prior knowledge of mining engineering is required. The course is free to students or $850 to industry. Coffee breaks and lunch will be provided both days.
